Legal Notice

MonkStreet is operated from Spain by a small team. This page explains who we are, the rules for using the platform, and the terms that apply when you subscribe to a paid plan. We've tried to write it in plain English — legal pages don't have to be painful to read.

What MonkStreet is — and what it isn't
MonkStreet is a research and information platform. We use a quantitative scoring system (MonkScore™) to analyze publicly traded companies and present the results in a way that's faster and clearer than reading raw financial statements. That's it.
MonkStreet is not:
- a bank, broker, or investment firm
- a registered investment advisor in any jurisdiction, including the United States, where the SEC and state regulators require specific registration for personalized investment advice
- a personalized financial advisor
- a recommendation engine telling you what to buy or sell
What we provide is information. Scores, data, and analysis based on public financial filings. You decide what to do with that information. If you want personalized investment advice tailored to your situation, please talk to a licensed financial advisor in your country.
We say this clearly and up front because the line between "information" and "advice" matters legally. MonkStreet is on the information side of that line, and nothing on the platform should be interpreted as a personal recommendation.
Using the platform
Who can use MonkStreet
You need to be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into contracts in your country to use MonkStreet. The platform is intended for adults making their own informed financial decisions.
We're happy to have users from anywhere in the world, but we operate from Spain under Spanish law. If using a service like MonkStreet requires a special license or registration in your country, it's your responsibility to make sure you're allowed to use us. We don't hold investment advisor registrations in any jurisdiction outside Spain — and we don't need to in Spain either, because we provide information, not advice.
Your account
Your MonkStreet account is personal. Don't share your login. Keep one account per person. Don't try to game the system with multiple accounts, fake identities, or anything along those lines — we'll close the account if you do.
If you sign in with Google, you're authorizing Google to share your basic profile (name, email, profile picture) with us so we can create and authenticate your account.
What you agree not to do
When you use MonkStreet, you agree not to:
- use the platform for anything illegal
- attempt to access other users' accounts or data
- scrape, mass-extract, or systematically download data from the platform without our written permission
- upload or transmit anything illegal, harmful, defamatory, harassing, or that violates anyone's rights
- interfere with the platform's operation, distribute malware, or attack our infrastructure
- impersonate anyone else
- use the platform in a way that breaks these terms or applicable law
If you do any of these things, we can suspend or close your account.
Service availability
We work hard to keep MonkStreet running well, but we can't promise it'll be available 100% of the time or completely free of bugs. The platform is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties about accuracy of data, fitness for any particular purpose, or that the service will meet your expectations. Things break sometimes. When they do, we fix them.
Information accuracy
We pull financial data from third-party providers and do our best to make sure it's accurate. But errors happen — in our calculations, in the source data, or in how we present things. We don't guarantee that everything you see on MonkStreet is correct, and we recommend verifying anything important before making decisions based on it.
Past performance of the MonkScore methodology, like past performance of any investment strategy, does not guarantee future results.
Transparency and conflicts of interest
You should know that the people behind MonkStreet — and any future employees, contractors, or partners — may personally hold positions in stocks that appear on the platform. We might own shares in companies with high MonkScores, low MonkScores, or anywhere in between. This is a real conflict of interest, and we're disclosing it openly because that's the honest thing to do.
We don't trade against our users, we don't use the platform to pump positions we already hold, and we don't accept payment from companies to influence their scores. But you should know we have skin in the game.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MonkStreet, its operators, owners, employees, contractors, and partners are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the platform — including but not limited to investment losses, missed gains, data errors, service downtime, or anything else.
If, despite the above, we're found legally liable for something, our total liability to you is capped at the amount you've paid us for the service in the 12 months before the issue arose. If you've never paid us anything, our liability is capped at zero.
This limitation applies to the fullest extent permitted by law. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you — but the rest still does.
Links to other websites
MonkStreet may link to other websites for your convenience. We don't control those sites and we're not responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices. A link from us isn't an endorsement.
Intellectual property
Everything on MonkStreet — the MonkScore methodology, the platform code, the design, the content, the trademarks, the data presentation — belongs to us or to the third parties we license from. You're welcome to use the platform for your personal investment research. You're not welcome to copy our content for commercial purposes, redistribute our scores, scrape our data, reverse-engineer our methodology, or build a competing product using anything you got from us.
If you think we've infringed someone's intellectual property, please tell us through the contact form and we'll investigate.
If part of this document is invalid
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable or invalid by a court, the rest of the terms remain in effect.
Disputes and applicable law
These terms are governed by Spanish law. If we ever disagree about something, our preference is to sort it out via email first — most things can be resolved that way. If we can't, the courts of Madrid, Spain have jurisdiction, and you and we both agree to that jurisdiction.
If you're a consumer in the European Union, this clause does not deprive you of any protections you have under the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence. Those rights still apply.
The European Commission also provides an Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr for EU consumers who want to resolve disputes out of court.
Subscriptions and payment
This section covers the terms when you subscribe to MonkStreet Premium or any other paid plan.
What you're buying
When you subscribe to a paid MonkStreet plan, you're buying access to the features described on the pricing page at the time you sign up. Plan features can evolve over time — usually they get better — but the description on the pricing page is what you can rely on.
Free trial
We currently offer a 14-day free trial of MonkStreet Premium. You'll need to enter a payment method to start the trial. If you don't cancel before the 14 days are up, your card will be charged for the first subscription period and your account will continue as a paid subscriber.
You can cancel at any time during the trial with one click in your account settings — no email, no questions, no hold music.
Your right of withdrawal (EU consumers)
If you're a consumer in the European Union, you have a statutory right to withdraw from your subscription within 14 days of the start of the contract, no reason needed, with a full refund. This is your right under EU Directive 2011/83/EU and Spanish consumer protection law (Real Decreto Legislativo 1/2007).
To exercise this right, just email us at [email protected] within 14 days of subscribing and tell us you'd like to withdraw. We'll process the refund within 14 days of receiving your request, using the same payment method you used to pay us.
A note: if you actively use paid features during the withdrawal period (running screens, accessing premium analyses, etc.), you may lose part of the refund proportional to what you've used. This is also under EU law — we don't make this rule, but we have to follow it.
Renewal and cancellation
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual, depending on what you chose). When you subscribe, you authorize us to charge your payment method for each renewal until you cancel.
You can cancel anytime from your account settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal but doesn't refund the current period (except where required by law, like the 14-day withdrawal right above). If you cancel an annual plan halfway through, you keep access until the end of the year you've already paid for.
If you signed up via Google Play or the App Store, you'll need to cancel through those platforms — we don't control those subscriptions.
Pricing and changes
Current prices are shown on monk.st/pricing. Prices are in US dollars unless otherwise noted, and may have applicable taxes added at checkout depending on your location.
We may change prices in the future. If we do, existing subscribers will be notified at least 30 days before the change takes effect, and the new price will only apply at your next renewal — never to a billing period you've already paid for.
Payment processing
Payments are handled by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. for EU customers). We don't see or store your full credit card details — Stripe handles all of that directly. We see only the metadata Stripe shares with us (last four digits, billing email, customer ID).
For Spanish tax compliance, Stripe collects the billing information required by Spanish law on our behalf.
Termination by us
We may suspend or terminate your subscription if you breach these terms, attempt fraud, miss payments, or if we're legally required to. We may also terminate the service entirely if MonkStreet shuts down for any reason — we hope it won't, but we have to acknowledge the possibility. If we terminate you for reasons that aren't your fault — like the service shutting down — we'll refund the unused portion of any subscription you've paid for.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms over time. If we make material changes that affect your rights or obligations, we'll notify active subscribers by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Minor edits (typos, clarifications) may be made without notice, but the "Last updated" date at the top of the page will always reflect the most recent revision.
Communications
By subscribing, you agree we can contact you about your account, your subscription, billing, and important service updates by email. These messages are not marketing — they're operational. Marketing emails are separate and only sent if you've explicitly opted in.
Assignment
If MonkStreet is acquired, restructured, or transferred to another legal entity, your subscription and these terms transfer to the new entity automatically. We'll let you know if this happens, and you can cancel without penalty if you don't want to continue with the new entity.
Service availability
Our offers depend on the availability of our service. If for any reason we can't deliver something you've paid for, we'll let you know and refund the affected portion.
